Meet our GM, Siobhan.

Meet our GM, Siobhan.

Can you introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your role as General Manager?

My name is Siobhán and I am the General Manager here at Titanic Distillers. My role is to oversee the daily operations of the business, managing resources, personnel, and processes to ensure that the business and brand meets its strategic goals and objectives.

What is your typical day like at Titanic Distillers?

As the General Manager, there is no such thing as a 'typical day' — and that’s exactly what I love about my role. Every day brings something different, whether it’s planning in the office, overseeing operations at the Visitor Centre and distillery, meeting with suppliers and customers, or travelling both nationally and internationally.

The variety keeps me energised and engaged, but it also presents its fair share of challenges. One moment, I could be coordinating an event, and the next, I’m resolving operational issues, negotiating deals, or exploring new opportunities and the promotion of our recently launched 401 Club; our exclusive cask investment programme.

What do you see for the future of the Irish Whiskey industry?

The future of the Irish whiskey industry is bright given a growing global appreciation for its unique qualities and resurgence in popularity. It is now one of the fastest-growing segments in the global spirits market. There has been a demand for premium whiskey as consumers demand unique and high quality offerings. Distilleries are responding by producing more aged expressions, limited editions, and special cask finishes.

At the start of 2024, we launched the first in our Limited Edition Pumphouse Series, a 05 PX Cask finish that sold out in within a week.

Building on this momentum, we are preparing to launch our next limited edition in time for Christmas 2024, so stay close to our socials for more news on this being announced soon.

What’s been your personal favourite memories so far in the role?

My favourite memory has to be witnessing the first Irish whiskey to go into production in Belfast since Prohibition. This milestone not only marked a significant moment in the city’s distilling history but also underscored our role in reviving Belfast’s rich whiskey heritage.

Another standout moment was receiving our Golden Medal at the Brooklyn Bar Covent in June of this year. This accolade was a testament to the quality of our products and affirmed our position in the global whiskey market.

Equally memorable are the events we’ve hosted in Titanic Distillers at Thompson Dock. From private wedding receptions to exciting product launches, and most recently, a vibrant Summer gathering for Plan B x TNI, utilising both our indoor and outdoor spaces, these events have allowed us to engage with our customers and showcase our versatility as new tourism destination and unique venue in the city.

What are your goals and plans for Titanic Distillers in the next five years?

To continue to drive availability of our brand across all international markets while also fulfilling an innovation pipeline that will continue to excite whiskey enthusiasts.

We will continue to expand our visitor and tourism offering at Thompson Dock and grow and develop the Titanic Distillers Team.
